Sarah and Richard were married at Clay House in Halifax on 22nd November 2014. We’d met a few months before for their pre-wedding shoot and I have got to say, Richard was rather nervous. It’s not everyday a stranger sticks a camera in front of you for a significant amount of time and asks you to smile…and with it being in preparation for the day he marries his sweetheart…one can imagine the pressures.
However, on the day of the wedding, having spent the morning with Sarah and her bridesmaids, I went off into the venue to search for the groom and struggled to see him. I felt a hand on my arm to the right of me and there he was, smart, confident and handsome, totally ready to take on this day he’d been nervously waiting for, I didn’t even recognise him. He even smiled for me without me promoting him on several occasions…
So I’m ever so thankful of the time we had at the pre-wedding shoot to all get to know each other and for the newly weds to be comfortable around my Pentax.
So here it is, Mr and Mrs Nichols.
I recently spent the morning with a wonderful new family in their beautiful home. There were lots to celebrate in the household, baby Charlie arrived 7 weeks before and his mummy and daddy recently became engaged! It was also Charlie’s first Christmas and Grandma and Grandad made an unexpected visit to the house, which made some lovely opportunities to photograph all three generations.
I shot some gorgeous Christmas shots of Charlie.
We walked the grounds around their home.
The shoot was really relaxed and I feel really priviledged to share these first moments with this new family.
Congratulations Fiona and Ian.
I had the pleasure of working with the uber talented Daniela Sochorova and the beautiful Nina Chin.
We did a fashion shoot in the popular and cool area of Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. It was a real treat for beautician Daniela to see as it’s her first time to this part of Manchester. Daniela lives in St. Annes but is actually from Slovakia! So we had a fun time introducing her to the wonders and delights of one of England’s best culture spots.
Nina, a fashion blogger with a degree or two, is a die hard Manchester fan since she moved here from Germany recently. With her Chinese descent and German upbringing, she made the perfect model for our lifestyle and fashion shoot.
We took advantage of the Christmas season and shot around the twinkle fairy lights just around dusk to get full access to the seasonal lighting.
Here’s a few from the shoot with a Christmas theme. There’s more to come!

I recently did a family shoot for my friends family and to make a day of it, I took my two children along with me.
In between snow and leaf throwing, I saw this family sat by the pond. They looked so peaceful and happy, I couldn’t help myself. How nice would it be if I could get in touch with them and give this picture to them!
This is H. I was at his house a couple of weeks ago to do a family shoot and also took photos of his sister. You can see theses here.
It was a beautiful day in Lymm and we were lucky enough to have a warm, bright November day. The original plan was to shoot indoors in their lovely open space living area but we took advantage of the unusual English weather. We recently had a record for the warmest Halloween ever! Well maybe not ever, but perhaps 100 years or so?
So here’s the cutest little boy with the beautiful bright eyes, doing what he loves best, football, playing on the swings, jumping on his trampoline and playing with his pet rabbits!
